Epoc-based Sony-Ericsson Smartphone Sony-Ericsson showed the P800 at JavaOne last week. The device runs the Epoc OS, has a color screen, camera and runs Java. There is a video at this page, and an official announcement with screen shots on Symbian's site.

AEStream and Friends New Apple technote “describes the AEStream* collection of APIs that can be used to construct Apple event records and Apple event descriptors using stream oriented calling conventions. This is great news given the support of AppleScript and Apple events in OS X. Note to self: Definitely something to look further into.

Don't Point, Just Think: The Brain Wave as Joystick Researchers are moving closer to developing brain-machine interfaces that can translate thoughts into actions. The general idea is to eavesdrop on the brain as it plans motion and then write programs that can translate those thoughts into specific movements. The benefits can be tremendous for those who are paralyzed.

Wish List: 9 Innovations in Search of Inventors Could consumer electronics use a dose of innovation? Who knows, maybe some of these ideas are already in the works... I hope so being that it's been a while since I've had the privilege of witnessing a truly innovative device. Then again the hiptop device from Danger is due out soon.
